Occasionally, I make a hack in perl. Most of them are for personal use, but here are two that may be generally useful: this script parses the ouput of uptimed and displays it in a HTML table and this one retrieves information about events that took place on a certain day or in a certain month and creates a HTML page listing them. Finally, this wondrous script lets you browse over your music collection and tar whole albums on the fly in order to let you download them in one piece.
